Het aantal deelnemende spaarders/beleggers is toegenomen met 16.000 naar totaal 250.000. In 2009 steeg het ingelegde vermogen met 512 miljoen naar totaal 7,4 miljard euro. Door de financiële crisis zijn er in 2009 minder projecten gerealiseerd met groene financiering. De Groenregeling is in maart 2010 aangepast en er zijn meer categorieën die in aanmerking komen voor groene financiering. De eerste projecten uit de nieuwe categorieën hebben inmiddels een Groenverklaring.
